 Vehicle Description
If you want a true measure of this incredible 1970 Chevelles worth, look no further than the fact that it was driven over 300 miles to our showroom, A/C blasting and 427 cubic-inch motor thumping under the hood. If youre ready for something beyond a mere SS, sit down and take a look at this one. Yeah, thats right, no fake SS badges, no cowl induction hood, not even an SS grille grafted on its nose. No, this potent Chevelle prefers a low profile and spends all its efforts on performance. The result is one of the best-looking and best-driving A-bodies weve ever featured. The dark green paint is expertly done, sophisticated, and somehow even more threatening than bright red might be. Its like it doesnt even care about being noticed, but once you do see it, its impossible to look away. Bodywork is outstanding, and thanks to hours and hours of rigorous block sanding and fitting, the body looks incredible. No stripes, no vinyl roof, just pure Chevelle and I think after seeing this car, more than a few guys might reconsider placing an order for a repro cowl-induction hood. The stock grille looks right with its tight eggcrate pattern, and the chrome simply pops against the deep green finish. The interior got a high-class makeover as well, and now features a set of supportive high-back, pro-touring style buckets that are worlds better than the original stools. The instrument panel is full of Auto Meter Sport-Comp gauges on a carbon fiber insert, and a fat Grant GT steering wheel is an upgrade in the handling department. Vintage Air provided the A/C and it blows ice cold, perfect for when youre just hauling along the highway. A center console, a powerful AM/FM/CD stereo, and a lot of new interior bits make this a fantastic place to spend a few hours every week. The trunk is upholstered in black carpet, and houses the amplifier for the stereo as well as a pair of speakers under the package shelf in back. With 427 cubic inches under the hood, it should be no surprise that this car is also seriously fast. Its a 454 block topped with a set of large oval port heads, a GM dual plane intake, and a full Comp Cams valvetrain. TRW forged pistons and a steel crank make for a bulletproof reciprocating assembly thats not afraid to rev. The engine bay is tidy, but not detailed for competition, but anything with 427 cubic inches in it is bound to attract attention. And it drives every bit as well as it looks, thanks to a 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive with a 2800 RPM stall converter and a set of 3.73 gears on a 12-bolt Eaton Posi out back. Hotchkiss suspension components gives this Chevelle tenacious grip in the corners and a wicked stance, and 3-inch Flowmasters announce in no uncertain terms that this car is built for combat. Staggered Torque Thrust wheels wear 245/50/16s up front and 275/40/17s out back for a perfect look. And by the way, have you seen the price? Im guessing this fantastic Chevelle wont last more than a few days, so dont wait, call now! This vehicle is located in our Dallas/Fort Worth showroom.
