| Vehicle Description |
Car Information: I am offering this 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 2-Door Hardtop with extensive, ground-up restoration and modifications done to make it nearly factory original. To start with, it is the first year of production and one very few ever made this color combination..
Secondly, this car was restored to a quality of fit and finish you only see at the best shows. Take a good look at the the photos to see the absolutely flawless paint, panel fit and interior. You can only imagine the hundreds of hours spent just handblocking and sanding the car to get a show finish like that. The color is unique in itself because the brown (Silver Mocha Metalic) is a one year paint, and the yellow (Inca Gold) was a very common color. It goes without saying the interior is also flawless This makes a superb car for cruising and showing as it is so comfortable and easy to drive.
This car has won every show in which it was entered and gathers crowds wherever it goes. In a year when Ford had Chevy tacked to the mast for the first time in history in car sales, it seems they saved almost every 1957 Chevrolet ever made. But there are so few 1957 Fords left, particularly like this one. You will never see another car done as well as and as beautiful as this one. You can not restore one today to this quality for the price I am asking.
This car has a Ford 312 CI engine, with Ford-o-matic transmission. Modifications and improvements on this car would include, All original parts including sheet metal, trim, emblems and chrome. Upgrades was to an alternator, electric wipers and an electric fuel pump.
These cars are in great demand and are appreciating rapidly as one of the most beautiful and desirable Ford's one can own. This car will bring great pride to anyone who desires to drive a 1950's legend!
I have set the reserve at a very reasonable price, actually this car exceeds in both restoration, and condition. This is a good price, considering what the market is on these cars.
Disclaimer
Because some people feel that a classic car should be just like a new one, I find it necessary to include the following language so that those naive people can be fairly warned not to have unreasonable expectations. I have described this vehicle to the very best of my ability. I love cars of all kinds and types and it shows. However, as with all pre-owned automobiles, condition is subjective, so I recommend that the potential buyer inspect the vehicle before finalizing purchase. |
