Vehicle Description..... Offering this beautiful 1967 Shelby GT 350. This rotisserie restoration is in the Shelby Registry as verified by the SHELBY AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE CLUB registrar DAVE MATHEWS. Further documentation is provided by a deluxe MARTI REPORT. This GT-350 has it's original matching numbers 289 HI PO engine with all the original FORD and SHELBY PARTS. Correct top loader 4 speed and FORD shifter. Only 41000 miles from new. This SHELBY GT-350 has 5 SHELBY 10 spoke wheels, 5 GOODYEAR SPEEDWAY new 350 original equipment tires. Other 1967 SHELBY hard to come by original restored parts include; wood steering wheel and horn button, seat belt and reels, HOLLEY 715 cfm carb.(rebuilt by PONY CARBs.), ceramic coated HIPO exhaust headers, full stainless steel exhaust system, original SHELBY VIN plate, original SHELBY oil / amp gauges, original like new date coded glass, original SHELBY fiberglass body parts, totally rebuilt brake system and front end. 1967 Shelby Facts..The last year that Mr. SHELBY was involved, 1968 Ford took over at A.O.SMITH as a SVO program. Two Shelby Mustangs were available in 1967, the GT350 sporting the high performance 289 V -8 and the GT500 with its larger 428c.i. V-8. While the 1965-66 bore great resemblance to the production Mustang, the 1967 Shelby was drastically restyled to emphasize the look of performance. A fiberglass nose extension, which exaggerated the production Mustang look, housed a unique grille with two 7 inch driving lights. Most 1967 Shelby have these lights mounted close to each other in the center of the grille; others have them mounted at each end of the grille opening to comply with certain states lighting laws. As the nose was extended by three inches, a unique fiberglass hood with a functional scoop was used. Additional hood pins were used to secure the hood. Upper and lower scoops were used in the rear; the lower scoops were functional on early cars but non-functional on the rest. At the rear, a fiberglass deck lid with a pronounced spoiler was used. Taillights were from the 1967 Cougar but without the chrome trim. The Deluxe Mustang interior in either black or parchment, was dominated by a two-point roll bar (some early cars had a four-point) which was the anchoring point for a pair of inertia- reel harnesses. The fold-down seat was a mandatory option, and all cars had a 140 mph speedometer and 8000 rpm tachometer. Additional Stewart Warner gauges, oil pressure and amps, were mounted in a special housing underneath the dash. All 1967 Shelby Mustangs came with the familiar GT350 or GT500 rocker panel stripes, a front grille emblem, front fender emblems, rear deck emblem and a pop-open gas cap that had a Shelby Cobra cover. Some early cars have flat gas caps; most others have curved caps. The GT350 came with the modified 271 hp 289 ci which was again rated at 306 hp. These did not have the steel Tri-Y headers and most did not have the Cobra oil pan. Four-speed models used a Holley 715 cfm carburetor while automatics got a Ford 595 cfm four-barrel. Most early GT350s used the S2MS numbered aluminum high-rise intake manifolds while later cars used the S7MS unit. In all other respects, the 289 was the same as the 1966 model. The GT500 came with a modified version of Ford's 428 ci Police Interceptor V-8. It used a pair of rear-mounted 600 cfm Holley carburetors on an aluminum intake manifold. An oval Cobra finned air cleaner matched the Cobra Lemans aluminum finned valve covers. The 428 was rated at 355 hp. A very small number of the more powerful (425 hp) 427 Medium Riser V-8s were installed at the factory or at the selling dealer; the exact number is unknown. Extensive substantiation is required for the would-be purchaser. The Paxton Supercharger was still available as an option on the GT350. The standard Shelby wheel was a steel rim with a wheel cover. These are quite rare. More common are the Kelsey-Hayes styled steel wheels or the cast aluminum Shelby ten-spoke wheels, which measure 15x7 inches. Some Shelby VIN tags were hand-lettered; most cars with the inboard headlights also have the letter "Z" preceding the serial number on the VIN plate.
