 Vehicle Description
Proceeds of this sale are getting donated to Live Oaks Community Church. Just Toys Classic Cars is extremely proud to present one of the nicest and rarest pre war cars left in existence. Before you is a 1932 Studebaker Dictator Model 62 Rumble Seat car. This car is one of only 6 left in the world and 1 of 4 in the United States. If you are looking for your next AACA show winner than look now further. This car shines from tip to tail yet it has seen some road since its restoration about 10 years ago. This car shows beautifully and you will see that from top to the undercarriage photos as well. The motor on this car is pristine as well you will see in the pics. This is a straight 8 221 Cubic Inch motor with 9 main bearings and 85 HP. Everything just purs like a kitten the way that it should when you turn the key and push the start button on this rare beauty. The three speed transmission shifts exactly the way that it should and the clutch is smooth under your left foot. The brakes are great on this car as well. There just isnt anything that needs any repair on this wonderful car. As you slide in to the button tufted interior just reach back and roll down the back window so you can communicate with your friends as they ride in the rumble seat in back. There are no rips or tears anywhere in the interior of this car. The headliner is absolutely perfect as well. When you slide in to this car it is like slipping back in time. The Studebaker Dictator was produced from 1927 through 1936 with 1928 being the first full year of the Dictator production. The Dictator was designed as a replacement for the Standard Six. This new model amplified the reputation of the Studebaker Company by breaking 28 distance and time records during the end of the 1920s. The name Dictator was used because Standard boasted that it dictated the standard and was conceived as a model line that other marques would imitate. The truth is that the name Dictator was probably not a good choice. It made exportation to certain European monarchies difficult and Studebaker switched the name to the Standard Six when exporting. In the United States, a lot people viewed the name in the political terms and felt it was rather negative and offensive. With Hitler and Mussolini gathering power in Europe, Dictator became politically incorrect and so the name was dropped in 1937. There were some very special features for the Studebaker in 1932 that included Startex automatic starting system, full automatic spark control, free wheeling in all forward speeds combined with synchronized shifting, and safety glass in all windows. Like we have said before, this car was just ahead of its time in styling and luxury. As we have said before, there are only 4 of these cars known to exist in the United States. When this car was new in 1932 they came with a $1,155 price tag. That would be $18,436 in todays money. This would have been an expensive car for the day. You really owe it to yourself to come down and take a look at a piece of automotive history. You DESERVE to have this car in your collection. This car is going to go no where but up in value. This part of your retirement fund. This is part of your childs college tuition. This is the ability to say, Look what I have that only 6 people in the world own today, and this one is MINE! Give us a call today, we look forward to speaking with you regarding this wonderful car. We do have finance options available for those that would like to take advantage of the option instead of unloading all of their cash at one time. We can get people that need to ship this car great dealer rate discounts. We pass the savings on to you. We thank you for taking a look at this fine automobile. We look forward to speaking with you and making you the newest member of the Just Toys Classic Cars family.
