 Vehicle Description
If youre a fan of wagons (and who isnt these days?), then this unusual and rare 1958 Chevy will definitely light your fires. A pro-built resto-mod, it offers incredible style, impressive performance, and a ton of performance. Want to stand out at the next cruise-in? This is the car you need. 1958 was a 1-year-only body style, and nowhere is that more apparent than on the classic station wagon. From the big Cadillac-looking front end to the dramatically flared quarter panels and chrome-laden tailgate, this car offers everything that weve come to love about the fabulous 50s. The bodywork was expertly refinished and now wears a coat of brilliant Nassau Blue. Look a little closer and youll find subtle ghost flames on the nose, so cleverly done that they dont even show up in our photographs (I assure you, theyre there). Tens of thousands of dollars were invested in the chrome and stainless restoration, but it pays off with a glittering symphony of brightwork that really pops off the blue paint. Details like the hash marks on the front fenders, the trim that curls around the single round taillight, and the massive grille are all Chevy trademarks that endured throughout the 50s. The glass is all new and carries a smoke tint that adds to the wagons ultra-sleek look. Judging by the plastic thats still on the seats, this car is fresh and impeccably dressed inside. We could have removed the plastic, but thats not really the point-you can see how nice the work is on the custom embroidered power buckets and well let the new owner decide when the time is right to unwrap them. A custom center console with beautiful striped wood sides (an effect that continues to the cargo area) holds the shifter, A/C controls, and auxiliary gauges, while a tilt column carries a wood-rimmed Grant steering wheel. The original instrument panel is still in place, along with a neatly integrated tach just under the AM/FM stereo radio in the dash. The back seat has been upholstered to match, the headliner is new, and custom door panels tie it all together quite neatly. And like I said, the wood-lined cargo area is a work of art-wow! Horsepower is not a problem, either, thanks to a 383 cubic inch stroker small block. Professionally built, it features a full roller valvetrain, aluminum heads, and a Holley intake and carburetor. Dressed up with plenty of polished billet and chrome, including a serpentine belt drive for the accessories, it delivers big power in a compact package that fits in the Chevys engine bay without issues. Chevy Orange paint gives it a link to the past, but everything else is neat, tidy, and thoroughly up to date. Its backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic with a 3500 RPM stall converter and a 3.73-geared 9-inch rear end. 4-wheel discs and a lowered suspension make it more than competent when the road starts to twist, and the oversized Torque Thrusts look great sitting inside 255/45/17 performance radials. An incredible hauler poised to collect trophies, and perhaps the only car capable of carrying even the largest ones home. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
