 Vehicle Description
As a pure status symbol, theres simply no other motorcar that can compete with a Rolls-Royce Corniche convertible. Perhaps the ultimate sign of success, you dont have to tell your neighbors how reasonably priced they are, and instead just continue to enjoy the perks that being an A-list celebrity ride will get you. It doesnt matter if you know cars or not, when a Rolls-Royce shows up, everyone knows its something special. Not flashy, but supremely elegant with impressive details and a high degree of sophistication built right in. This one has been repainted a lovely pearl white, which emphasizes the cars tidy proportions and quietly suggests exceptional comfort. Restored several years ago, this one has certainly been driven a bit, but when a car is this beautiful, its hard to resist. Although not a car show, this one is ready to be driven and enjoyed, with plenty of prestige left for the next owner. Fit and finish are quite good, as youd expect, with doors that close like the proverbial bank vault and a trunk lid that feels like its pivoting on silk-lined hinges. Theres just enough chrome and trim, including the German silver radiator shell, to suggest fine craftsmanship and old world care in the construction of the car. And, of course, youll never get tired of seeing the Spirit of Ecstasy out there, leading the way wherever you go. The first thing youll notice inside is that this is a home-market Roller, complete with right-hand drive. Youll be surprised by how easy it is to acclimate to driving from the right side of the car, and it gives you a distinctly different feel so you know youre behind the wheel of something special. Sumptuous tan leather seats piped in brown are subtle and tasteful, as if this car could be anything else. Lovely Wilton wool carpets are plush and show only very minor use. And thats real wood on the dash, doors, and center console, not a plastic substitute or even a cheap veneer. A full array of instruments keep an eye on the big V8 up front, and the massive steering wheel is a remarkably simple affair that suggests a bygone era. An AM/FM/cassette stereo is fitted in the center console, and the A/C vents are lovely chrome eyeballs that pivot on frictionless bearings. A heavily insulated tan convertible top keeps interior noise levels to a bare minimum, and the trunk is more artfully upholstered than many modern cars. Rolls-Royce never gave their 6.75-liter V8 a horsepower rating, but rest assured that its adequate. Its also eminently smooth and full of torque, such that the car feels like its being pulled by an electric motor. It looks quite complicated, but the hardware has proven its reliability over the years and you should be able to enjoy many years of happy motoring before major work is required. Its backed by a reliable GM TH400 3-speed automatic, which was arguably the finest transmission in the world at the time, and the fully independent suspension glides over rough pavement like a hovercraft. Modest 205/75/15 whitewall radials have been fitted, along with simple color-matched hubcaps. Youll feel like a million bucks behind the wheel of this lovely Corniche, which is a worthy grand tourer in its own right. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
