History of the 300F
For sale is this Chrysler 300F. In 1960, the Chrysler corporation produced only 964 of these coupes, and it is estimated that only 5% of these cars were painted Toreador Red. The 300Fs boasted a 375 hp, 413 cubic inch engine that delivered an incredible 495 lb/ft of torque. The dual 4-barrel carburetors on the 30" long ram manifolds added an additional 45 lb/ft of torque over the performance of the 300E, over a wide RPM range. The Chrysler 300F cars were THE class of the field at Daytona, where six of them took the first six spots in the Daytona Flying Mile. 1960 was also the first year of Chrysler's famous unibody construction and electroluminescent instrument panel lighting. The cars were equipped with four individually upholstered leather bucket seats, and a full-length console that housed window controls and a tachometer. The front seats swivel out.
History of this particular 300F (8403146818) Which is now on October 1, 2012 95% completed full nut and bolt body off restoration. On a very straight and mostly rust free car this process is spectacular.
Original heritage:
This 300F was shipped to Cypress Motors in Monterey, CA on May 2, 1960. It resided in California for its entire life until coming to Washington state in about 1988. It has been driven less than 2000 miles since 1987 and has been stored indoors since its arrival in Washington.
Standard features that came with all 300Fs (and are on this car) include:
413 ram-induction engine
Torqueflite automatic transmission
Power steering
Power brakes
Power windows
Four individual leather-trimmed bucket seats
Front swivel seats
Full console with tachometer
Electric clock
Remote-control lefthand rearview mirror
Prismatic interior mirror
Padded dash
Padded steering wheel
Variable speed windshield wipers
Push-button windshield washer
Light package
Interior light package
900 x 14 Goodyear Bluestreak Highspeed tires

The car is not missing anything. It was originally Toreador Red (paint code PP1) and copied very well. The wheel wells were not rusty; in fact, you coul still see the original spot welds. The floor pans are quite nice; and there was very little rust and all has been completely removed and professionally prepared and painted.
.
The car has gone thorough a complete restoration. It had minor rust in the trunk floor, and lower quarter panels and the typical rust in the rear trunk gasket lip.

The restoration is finished; I have almost 4000 photos of the entire restoratin which will go with the car.
