 Vehicle Description
What youre seeing here is one of the most devilishly creative rods to come along in years. Yes, its a Deuce, but that grille, hood, and portions of the fenders are from a 33, creating a unique blend of styles that Zipper Motors calls the 33 Deuce. The very first of the Zipper roadsters, it remains in exemplary condition throughout. The list of body mods is extensive, so well just hit the highlights here: its a 32 roadster body from the cowl back, but the front end is for a 33 Ford with a billet insert. The fenders are also from a 32, although experts will note that 33 splash aprons have been molded in and the fronts of the fenders extended to cover more of the tire, so its not quite either and a little bit of both. The frameless windshield is low and sleek, and its all wrapped in a gorgeous black and purple paint job with flames up front that surround the billet grille. Finish quality is spectacular thanks to the guys at Balls Rod & Kustom, and the detailing makes it special. Theres a lot of pearl in the finish, and it stands out, particularly on the flamed front fenders. Other tricks include flush-mounted LED taillights, shaved door handles, and those race-ready side mirrors that sprout from the fiberglass. Overhead, a custom top gives it a unique look thats part 3-window coupe and part salt flats racer. The completely hand-made interior features a pair of deep black leather buckets with textured inserts, just for a little character. Door panels are simple affairs with more textured leather, a billet latch and an armrest thats pure style. The dash was wrapped in soft-touch materials, too, with a soft gloss that wont blind you on a sunny day and gives the interior a highly polished look. VDO instruments arranged in the center cluster have classic, understated good looks and a tilt column carries a handsome billet steering wheel with a matching black leather wrapper. Black wool carpets and a matching headliner in the removable hardtop control noise and look great. And yes, theres even a very usable trunk, fully finished with an insert that matches the original leaf spring design, a neat touch. A lightly modified 355 cubic inch small block Chevy provides the power, fed by a pair of Edelbrock carbs atop a matching intake. Lots of chrome and billet aluminum show through the open hood sides, and the bright red block really pops against the black paint. With a Competition Cams bumpstick and MSD ignition system, it makes an estimated 300 horsepower, which is more than enough for this lightweight roadster. Theres a heavy-duty Walker radiator up front with an electric fan, and block-hugging headers dump into a custom dual exhaust system that sounds right. The frame is a Zipper creation built to stock 32 Ford dimensions, and then fitted with a Mustang II front suspension and a 9-inch on coil-overs out back. A TH350 3-speed automatic handles gear swaps, and it rides on staggered Weld Racing billet wheels which wear 175/70/14 and 285/70/15 radials. This car is so cool it appeared in a full spread in "Street Rodder" magazine, and even a few years later, it continues to impress. Call today!
