 Vehicle Description
The great thing about the 1957 Chevy being one of the most popular cars of all time is that theres a vast aftermarket that allows you to build exactly the 57 Chevy of your dreams. This gorgeous Bel Air hardtop is just the kind of car that can be shown with pride thanks to its ultra-clean build and traditional look. If you enjoy driving your collector cars, you need to drive this Bel Air. Thanks to great attention to detail and some careful craftsmanship, its an incredibly straight, clean hardtop that totally nails the traditional, OEM look that so many people admire. With a handsome Matador Red finish atop some straight bodywork, it would be easy to mistake this one for a trailer queen at first glance. Sure, its been driven and enjoyed, but that does nothing to diminish the wow factor this one carries everywhere it goes. All the delightful 57 Chevy details are in place, too, including the gold anodized front grille and stylized V that indicates eight cylinders under the hood, the polished stainless trim along the flanks and which surrounds the anodized panels in back. Chrome like this doesnt come cheap, either, and theres no evidence that any corners were cut anywhere on this car. Original materials and patterns were used for the interior as well, duplicating the 50s with a few thoughtful upgrades that make it a pleasure to drive. The seats are finished in unusual black fabric with vinyl trim, and it fits so well that it was surely done by professionals not in someones garage. Black carpets with custom rubber floor mats continue the theme down low, while the beautifully restored dashboard is full of what appear to be the original gauges that are in great shape. The steering wheel is much too nice to be original, especially given this cars life down south, but the restoration work is quite well done and youd never know by looking at it. Bright trim spans the dash, enclosing the original AM radio, and youll note that seat belts have been added for safety. Better yet, the wiring is brand new, so youll have no worries in that regard. Nice! A fully dressed 283 cubic inch small block delivers the power and has been upgraded to a 4-barrel carburetor with a chrome open-element air cleaner up top. New ignition system components mean its ready to cruise with a great-sounding cackle from the new dual exhaust system that ends in polished tips just below the rear bumper. The 2-speed PowerGlide was recently rebuilt and feeds the original rear end, which still shows its original red oxide primer finish. Underneath, the floors are finished with undercoating to control noise and heat, along with a satin black frame, and a brand new gas tank hanging out back. Those subtle but familiar-looking wheels are simply Rallys without the trim rings, with spinners that look right on a 1950s car and a set of 225/75/15 blackwall radials. Sleek, clean, and surprisingly stock, this wonderful Bel Air proves that a job well done is its own reward. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Charlotte showroom.
