 Vehicle Description
Mix and match is a good description for this 1957 Chevrolet - code 1011D - Bel Air 2-door post sedan. This was the last year for the tri-year Chevys, being 55 - 56 & 57s. This owner has taken the basic profile and updated it to modern day standards but leaving it, unmistakably a 1957 Chevy. The code 793A onyx black over custom black, over silver leather interior a beauty to admire. A modern 350cid - 300hp - V-8 motor is mated to a modern 4-speed Muncie transmission and transfers that power to the back wheels through a 12-bolt - 3:42:1 rear end. Fuel and air is fed through an Edelbrock intake and carb setup and emptied through a high performance dual exhaust system. Compression comes from a Comp. cam and flat top pistons. To keep this car cool he has installed a modern day radiator and electric fan. Alternator and the brake system are also, modern day attire. To keep you safe, seat belts are also included. New suspension parts lift this Bel Air to the height that Ed Cole designed. And all the Bel Air trim is all there including gold grille, front fender chevrons, hood and trunk scripts were all rendered in anodized gold. Options and accessories include power brakes, an after-market air conditioning, leather interior, bumper guards at the front and rear, rubber bullet guards, AM/FM radio with a Cassette player, period floor mats, period spare tire and much more. This car was built in Atlanta, GA and has remained Georgia all of its life. This is clearly evident upon inspection of body and undercarriage. Completely solid top to bottom. The doors simply "click" shut instead of that signature "slam" indicative of replacement panels. Research shows us that the Body by Fisher code number is 2402. All the chrome is bright, excellent paint, stainless and flat trim are all detailed, and the leather interior is of the utmost quality. Body panels are straight and nicely aligned. And all of the corners sit on a beautiful set of rally wheels complete with Chevy spinners. Chevys slogan back then and is still true today - you get more to be proud of in a 1957 Chevy. If you are looking for a driver, a car that you can take to the shows, drive out on Hwy. 66, the office, downtown, please consider this beauty. This is one of only 62000 Bel Air 2-door posts made and since most were driven hard, raced or destroyed, there cannot be many left. Give us a call and we can walk you through the car and answer any questions that you may have. This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom. For more information, please call (678) 279-1609 or toll free (877) 367-1835.
