What makes this 'Stang so great is that it is a modified hi-po 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe that has undergone an 8-cylinder conversion from its original T-code 6-cylinder design. It has a 302 V8 from a 1974 Ford in it, which was rebuilt about ten years ago, an Edelbrock 4v 600 cfm carb, as well as a T-56 6-Speed racing transmission. It originally came with drum brakes all around, but Chris has since added discs off of a 1995 Lincoln. The suspension and rear end have been upgraded to accomodate the eight-cylinders, and when it had its original automatic C-4 transmission, this Mustang went through the 1/4 mile at 11.37 @ 122 mph--now with the six-speed and a higher drive ratio, it should be able to hit 200 mph easily. Chris has had it as high as 185 when he raced (and beat) a newer Porche GT2. This is, overall, a hi-po custom driver--it should use a new paintjob and some reconditioning on the interior to make it a street-show Mustang. The undercarriage is solid and free of dangerous rust, though it may have some surface rust.
