I am the third ownerl. 1st owner bought this car in San Leandro, ca. in 1962. I have all documentation from inspection checklist, owner's manual, to service booklet. 2nd owner bought it from the original owner sometime late 1980s.. I bought it off 2nd owner in 1993 in San Jose. Ive had It in San Francisco for the last 19 years. It made its way around the SF Bay. It has never seen rain under my watch. It has been garaged from the first day I've owned it. In 1996, the transmission was refurbished. The third member was rebuilt in Santa Rosa by Rear End Shop around the same time. I have driven this car around to different car shows, Hot August Nights, Calistoga and such. It is definitely a Road King. No trailer Queen here. In the last 6 years, I have hardly drive it. This is the main reason for the sale. It would be an easy step for the next owner to do a mild restoration for it to become a 60- 70k show car or just enjoy driving it around town.
The Good, the Bad and the Ugly:
Good: This is a solid car through and through. The 327 is great running order. I think that i may have put less then 5 thousand miles in nineteen years.. This Impala is 99% Stock. All numbers match and I have the original check list issued to the 1st owner. No cut up modified or half ass jobs. when I first bought it I ordered new parts for everything I wanted to replace. From sun visors to gasket for the tail lights and everything in between. See pix. On request, I can provide all invoices via email. In today's prices, I calculated all the OEM replacement parts(still in original packages) to be around 4 Thousand dollars.. Every thing works except the dash clock. Majority of the miles are highway since it was used to travel to different venues around northern California. The Bad: It has road/ door dings chips and the normal wear. It has small paint bubbles here and there but very little. It had them from the day I bought it. So it has not spread. You will have to repaint a fender and install all the new parts. I never got around to it because I always though I'd do it later. Life goes by fast. The Ugly: It has a scrape on the drivers side fender and door. I do have a replacement fender. primered and ready for paint. There is a small hole on the drivers side rear wheel well from the scrape..
