 Vehicle Description
In 1970, the Super Bees look changed, but the mission stayed the same: high performance at a reasonable price. This beautifully restored five-time trophy-winner continues that tradition with big block performance and a great look that proves Mopars only get better with age. Muscle cars were never about subtlety, so why not go all-out? This gorgeous factory Super-Bee wears a correct coat of Hemi Orange and high-contrast C-stripe to great effect. Borrowing some styling tips from big brother Charger, the new Super Bee was altogether more sophisticated in 1970, beginning with a twin-grille look that would become a Mopar hallmark for the better part of that decade. All the steel on this car has been finessed into shape, probably better than new, and it looks fantastic. Its still a big car, too, with those massive quarter panels being the perfect place to show off your metalworking talents, so theyre arrow-straight underneath the reproduction decals. Most of the chrome is original and in outstanding condition, proving that this car has always been a favorite toy, and all the proper decals and Super Bee emblems are in place. Basic was hardcore in 1970, so you didnt need frills like buckets and a console if your sole interest was speed, and as a result, this Super Bee sports a nicely restored bench seat interior. New seat covers and door panels look great and replicate the originals exactly, while fresh carpets and a new dash pad are part of the reason this one is so popular with the judges. The original gauges are a little faded but still fully functional, and it only reinforces this cars solid history. A new woodgrained steering wheel probably wont convince anyone its real wood, but its correct for the car and works great with the factory-installed pistol-grip shifter atop the 4-speed manual gearbox. A correct Music Master AM radio remains in the dash, again reinforcing this cars bargain priced performance attitude. The trunk is quite neatly finished with a new mat, matching Rallye wheel and tire, as well as a full jack assembly. Performance was definitely part of the package when they redesigned the Super Bee, and this one packs a 335 horsepower 383, a rumbling, snarling big block whose torque moves the car with effortless ease. Rebuilt to stock specs save for an Edelbrock intake under the Mopar Performance air cleaner, it barks to life with a great rumble from the twin pipes out back. Highly detailed with Hemi Orange paint on the block, beautifully restored exhaust manifolds, and all the correct bits and pieces, it should be no surprise that this one is popular on the show field, too. Its backed by a hemi suspension, and the correct 4-speed manual feeds an 8.75-inch rear with 3.55 gears on a Sure-Grip limited slip, so cruising is a pleasure. You really should take a moment to admire the brand new ceramic-coated exhaust system, while classic Rallye wheels dress it up, and wear 225/70/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials. High-impact, high-performance, and backed by the factory build-sheet, this Super Bee just couldnt be duplicated for the asking price. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
