Beautiful interpretation of a legendary icon the 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback. Beginning in 2006, car had a complete frame off restoration, engine rebuild, upgraded suspension and brakes. Ongoing improvements since I have owned it in 2010; now 4,000+ miles on odometer and everything is now just right car needs nothing. Street legal and road course ready; raw and exciting driving experience; no a/c and no power anything. Car ride is firm; all body welds reinforced; full roll cage adds to stiffness/handling. Car built by old circle track races and designed to pull hard from 2,500 rpm all the way through 6,000 rpm; guessing top rpm is 6500-6700 rpm. NOTE: with a tall first gear (2.32) in the famed Ford close-ratio Toploader, 3.50 Richmond rear gear, single plane Torker intake manifold and the big head 4V 351 Cleveland heads, this car does not spin the tires off the line; however, this set up allows use of 1st gear up to 45-50 mph and downshifts into first at 25 mph (if you want to spin the tires then I recommend adding a 5-speed; I really like keeping the Toploader though). Torque curve is so flat that it pulls hard from any gear above 2500.
351 Cleveland 4V (Big heads); shock towers modified to make room for Cleveland engine
Dynoed this past November 2013: REAR WHEEL Power #s: 316 hp at about 5400 rpm; 326 lb/ft at about 4300 rpm (assuming 18% drivetrain loss that approximately 385 hp and 397 lb/ft)
