Built in 1995 by Paul RoadKnight in Canada, this Merc is a testiment to what design and top workmanship can attain. Of course it's a pleasure to drive and economic. I always wanted a 51 but hate the dash's. Paul installed a beautiful 49 Merc dash with VIDO speedometer/guages [led shift indicator] slotted AC vents along with other great ideas. I am the third owner and purchased it in 2005. I have replaced Tie Rods/shocks/rear axle bearing/brakes and exhaust system. Heavy duty radiator w[custom SS shrowd]. 78 Nova front sub frame w/disc brakes. 78 Nova 323 rear. [ 5 Dayton SS 100 spoke rims w/firestone 380 tires]. Custom interior using GM heavy duty 3480fabric (flawless)[matching interior fabric in trunk and center console]. Custom California bumpers w/rear 55 Pontiac upper bar.
Top chopped 4" front 5" back. 50 Merc rear window w/a beautiful top line. Door vent windows removed. Hood fender and door corners rounded. 54 merc frenched head lights. [3 Stacked 54 Merc Taillights (2 LED's/light)]. 84 Pontiac Grand Prix tilt column w/[Grant 704 wheel]. 84 Buick Riviera elec 6-way front seats w/ custom console. Elec-remote door/window/trunk. Ford Mustang electric side view mirrors. Great idea. Sealed under-carriage. 82 Riviera gas tank. Mustang mstr/cyl and brake booster. Front fenders modified for parking light fit. [Custom (one of a kind) grill fabricated with 2001 Honda vents/59 Cad grille/54 chev lights and moulded fiberglass housing]. The original 54 Pontiac grill w/54 chev lights, in perfect condition, also stays with car. [In 2009 I smoothed the door dips, reshaped the quarter line,fabricated 12 louvers, 2 side scoops and added scallop lashes].
