This 1966 Volkswagen Beetle is for sale in our Louisville KY showroom. This great looking 66 Beetle is an awesome example of the classic symbol of the free love movement from the 60s. 1966 had some minor changes to the classic BUG as most people refer to it as. The clutch cable that was notorious for breaking was now protected inside a rubber hose. The steering knuckle is connected to the torsion arms making them maintenance free. The biggest improvement was the suspension which required VW to modify the frame head making it much more rigid. This particular bug had the 1300cc motor replaced with a much stronger 1600cc motor that sounds, feels, and looks like it is relatively new. The 4 speed transmission seems to be tight with smooth shifts during acceleration. The clutch has a great feel that seems to have a lot of pedal left as well. The rims are original to the car with 66 being the first year they were offered. They have been wrapped in a new set of radial tires that definitely help with the ride comfort. The interior has the original wicker shelf under the dash that is something that you just dont see any more. Options for this 1966 Volkswagen Beetle include Cloth, Vinyl, Am/FM, and Radial Tires.
