| Vehicle Description |
The 1971 Plymouth Cuda is the stuff that legends are made of. It was one of the last cars made before the Detroit muscle cars were emasculated in the early seventies. With rare exception the Big Three auto makers are more known for their lack of imagination and absence of vision than they are for manufacturing cars that play with your emotions and invoke the aura of the golden age of automobiles. Even their newest and most desirable cars are knockoffs of early Camaros, Chargers and Mustangs. Clearly the 71 Hemicuda is synonymous with the ground thumping, heart pounding muscle car era. Unfortunately the fire breathing 1971 Cuda was ushered offstage in the early seventies by the combined introduction of catalytic converters and the oil embargo of the early seventies. The demand for these cars now is far greater than it was then. This is due to relatively low production numbers at that time and the high number of vehicles that have since been demolished at the hands of untrained drivers.
We have a twin of the 71 Cuda. This car was not a part of an original Hemicuda production run in 1971 but it is identical to a Hemicuda in every other respect. It has an real 426/425 modern crate Hemi engine matted with an A833 4 speed manual transmission. It also has a Dana 60 Axle with a 3:55 to 1 differential. The Shaker hood, that became synonymous with the moniker Cuda, is in place and fully operational. Even the color is riveting. It is fairly well known that the color of a car can have an astonishing impact on a cars value. In this case "Go Mango Orange" is one of the most desirable colors that Plymouth produced and it has been successfully replicated on our car. We entered this car in the Milwaukee Mile Car Show on May 4th. It ran away with the first place trophy in its class. This was the first judged car show we have entered this spring and this was the first time this car has been shown since it was acquired. Even identical twins arent identical because they have discernably different finger prints. Our twin is as close as you can get to the "Real McCoy". Recapture the past with one of the hottest cars that ever graced the racing venues of the golden age of the automobile. Strike up a relationship with a Hemicuda. Get a glimpse of what it must feel like to be in the cockpit of an F-22 Raptor when a pilot takes it through its paces during a training run. |
