1940 Mercury Eight Convertible for sale! This is one rare Mercury - there were only 978 produced and believed to be only a small number of those left. This particular car has been in the same family since 1969 and was rumored to be formerly owned by Marilyn Monroe! It is covered in an older blue coat of paint with a red vinyl interior. It is powered by an original style flathead V8 engine, and it still has the numbers matching 3 speed manual transmission under the car. Recently it has had new brakes, a new fuel pump, a rebuilt carburetor, and new spark plug wires installed. Options include a manual convertible top with removable B-pillars for a clean top down look, vinyl interior, hub caps, and Firestone wide white wall bias ply tires. These Mercurys are extremely rare and hard to find, and they will only get harder to find as time goes on! This Mercury is located in our St. Louis showroom, please call us at 800-231-3616 or 618-271-3000 for additional information.
