1958 the Nomad was 4dr. So the only 2dr. wagon was the Yeoman
This car was from Idaho and in really solid Shape, put had the floor pands and a brace, then had drivers side 1/4 panel all the way down, the passenger side only needed the door 1/4 panel replaced. The body was taken off, X frame blasted Underbody blasted and Undercoated with Eastwoods product as well as frame. Gas tank was cleaned tested and then Creamed and New sending unit, All New Stainless Gas line, as well as Brake lines. New Ball joints, new brakes all around, wheels were powder coated same for spare.inside body was treated with POR 15 even insides off body was Rust killer and undercoated.
inside regulators were reconditioned, as were headlight buckets. New Old Stock Backup lights were installed. a new rear light harness for 58 Belair, eng.wiring and headlight and wiper harness too. this Car originally came with the 6 cylinder, and 3 on the tree, but I got this with no motor or transmission, I got a 58 283 with power pack heads, and converted to an original Power Glide trans ( kept the original 6cyl, Motor mount, Manual steering column and pedals and some other parts) a 2 barrel Rochester carb rebuild with oil air filter nos fuel pump and original gas filter to carb, plus one along chassis. this was a Bare bones power nothin, knee knocker Heater unit, only 2 switches on heat controls , I have both Electric,and Vacuum wiper motors. has new battery box, new oil pan had Generator repaire and tested as well as starter and many original 58 parts. New desert Radiator. the front clip has been changed to a Nomads with V8 emblems. Lets see, Back seat is all there needs upholstering as does front seat Frame cleaned and POR 15 this car has No glass except vents and 1/4 glass and gaskets as this was to be All New as well.
Originally this Car came with a 2 tone Paint 50th Anniversary Gold, and Artic White I think and the interior was specially done Fawn and white Panels, and Gold combo Seats Clock and Radio Delete plates and a Biscayne Steering wheel Am now working on connecting all the electrics using original fuse box Gen.(has Power steering pump attached and Voltage Regulator as front lights, and generator wires 3 tr-3 bulbs.
it now has 2nd choice front chrome gill ect. painted black as well as 3 pc. bumpers intended to paint all same color (slight Custom) but will in clude 1st choice Chrome, and One Piece Bumpers
Have not started Motor but Sprayed sprayed a little Marval Mystery Oil in plugs and turned over easily and no odd noises just ran some Bull horn Dual exhaust on so ready to start in Garage. have found out I needed Automatic Park-Neutral switch on steering column and ran heavy red wire from battery to Voltage Regulator So hope fully this will start by next month as I know an un running cars value is lower
This Body off, serious Restoration is at the Point for a Collector to Finish the way They want too. As I had 2 parts cars there are many other parts not included as Power steering set-up, minus Master Cylinder. and Hoses,deluxe heater system and controls, and clock, You name it!
