Stk. 1752 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS
The Chevelle, originally launched in 1964 continued on through three generations until its final production year of 1977. Of the various styles created within that 13 year run, the 1970 Chevelle was undoubtedly the most popular look of all. With its four round headlights up front and two rectangular taillights recessed within the rear bumper; this one year only model had instant appeal. The most revered and cherished model of all was the Super Sport or SS. Our Chevelle you see here has had only three owners and was refinished ten years ago in this striking Mulsanne Blue (26) with Classic White SS stripes over what we understand to be the original Ivory (791) interior. Under the functional cowl induction hood is where this SS really shines. This built 454 sports a Holley billet four-barrel carburetor atop an aluminum medium-riser intake, solid lifters and Dyno-Max mufflers which help deliver that trademark big-block sound. All that prodigious torque is dispatched to a correct, four-speed Muncie M22 Rock Crusher transmission which spins a ten-bolt, 3.73 posi-rear end. On the inside, this SS interior is a joy to behold with full instrumentation for the driver; including a 7000 RPM tachometer and working clock, tilt wheel, factory bucket seats, full length brushed aluminum console and three-spoke steering wheel. Underneath all this beauty is a rust free and nicely detailed undercarriage that you can really be proud of. One of the many magical things you will experience in driving this Chevelle is not only its razor sharp throttle response and taunt handling, but also that familiar whine that only a Rock Crusher transmission can emit while trolling around town. Believe me when I say it will send chills down your spine. Call 800-650-1055 or visit our website at www.autobarnclassiccars.com for more information. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS"
