Rare 1950 DeSoto Deluxe 4 Door Sedan,55977 original miles,in
good,restorable,running condition. Straight Six,Fluid Drive,6 volt,
color;black, glass in good shape with(4)vent-wing windows.
Almost everything works:
Wipers,lights,turn signals (original white),locks,cranks,heater,
blower, parking brake.
Radio has DeSoto emblem,needs a tube.
The hood vent was temporarily sealed to keep out moisture.
Tires are fair,rims good, spare in trunk.
Battery and tailpipe have been replaced.
Interior is blue vinyl/brown,front seat has rips,all covered with
temporary stretch seat covers.
Dash is intact,looks good,headliner sags,is aged and brown.
I have seen and heard this vehicle run,has a little smoke on start-up,
but runs quietly and smoothly. Some rust bubbles evident around headlights
and at various seams, although body seems to be solid. Chrome is pitted
and weathered, but should be easily restored, no evident damage that I saw. There are some rust-through holes in the floor under the mats, possibly from bolt holes, nothing extensive.
Owner believes the mileage is original, but cannot trace. I am selling
it for him by consignment, he is retired and drives it every summer.
From a distance, this vehicle looks great and turns heads, even in this
unrestored condition. One of the DeSoto club sites said that there were only 133,854 built ! NADA pricing listed at 4200-10,500,Offers considered. |
