 Vehicle Description
Few will argue that the 1967 Pontiac GTO is not a gorgeous car. Even among GTO fans, the 67 stands out as a high water mark in terms of styling. This sleek matching-numbers hardtop has been beautifully restored from top to bottom, is fully documented, and offers several desirable options and upgrades that earn it a spot on most enthusiasts short list of cars to own before they die. Originally code F-2, Tyrol Blue with a black vinyl roof, the restorer wisely chose a color that wasnt red, in this case, Cameo Ivory, and jettisoned the padded roof. The result is an unusual and super clean Goat that speaks softly and carries a big stick. If the most famous muscle car of all time could be considered a sleeper, this might be it. But a low profile doesnt mean this one didnt get restored right. Quite the opposite, in fact. With a low-profile color, its the details and the quality that make it stand out, from the laser-straight quarter panels, to the panel gaps, to the restored trim and badges, this car is all about getting the little stuff right. Up front the stacked headlights and split grille are Pontiac trademarks, with wire mesh inserts that recall European sports cars that inspired the GTO. In back, a rechromed bumper and slotted taillights leave no question about the cars identity, even though Pontiac kept the GTO badges subtle. The blue interior is an excellent choice when contrasting with the white exterior, and gives the car a dash of character that simple black wouldnt have captured. According to the duplicate window sticker that accompanies the car, this is an original bucket seat/console car, and the seats have been masterfully reupholstered using materials that match the original for texture and pattern. Other cool options include a Rally gauge cluster with tachometer, an AM radio with a power antenna, and the way-cool 8-track stereo tape player hanging underneath the dash. The woodgrain appliques are in good condition with no peeling or fading (they are, after all, just decals), and the deep dish steering wheel is a perfect representation of the 60s-surely you already have a pair of string-back driving gloves, right? The engine is the original 400 cubic inch V8, and has been upgraded to factory Tri-Power equipment (the original 4-barrel carburetor and intake are included with the car). Detailed with Pontiac Turquoise paint on the block, proper individual air cleaners, and chrome valve covers, nobody will know that this car didnt come this way from the factory. Rebuilt less than 2500 miles ago, the engine feeds the original TH400 3-speed automatic and Saf-T-Track rear differential. The suspension has been fully rebuilt, and the front brakes were upgraded to factory discs during the restoration. Subtle factory Rally wheels always look great, and the blackwall BFGoodrich T/As complete the sleeper look. There are plenty of GTOs out there, but not many capture this ones clean look, potent powerplant, and outstanding pedigree. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
