For sale in our St. Louis showroom is the famous Boss 429! In 1969 Ford produced just 859 of these to compete with Chryslers 426 Hemi in the NASCAR circuit. These engines were severely underrated at 375 horsepower. Some sources say actual horsepower was far and beyond 500! In order to fit this engine in the Mustang, Ford contracted out the work to Kar Kraft in Brighton, MI to complete the heavy modifications.
