Original Max Wedge. One of only 9 LC Automatics built! Car was originally sold at Melrose Motors in Oakland, CA. Purchased by Terry Esslinger in 1972 who raced it up until 1979. Terry was a Division 7 Champ and Class Winner at Sports Nationals and Winter Nationals. Record holder in March 1977. Sold to Doug Martin in 1979, who raced it at Division 3 for 8 years.
Mid West Drag Racing Magazine Run for the Ring winner in 1997. 1/8 Mile Record Holder in 2000. 2 Nostalgia Super Stock wins. Class A/SA, Legal NHRA A/SA or SS/EA or Nostalgia. Raced in Division 1 and 3. Ran 10.30s at 129 MPH.
This beautiful Belvedere has a Tri City Competition short block 426 bored .60 over. original intake and carburetors, Cam dynamics cam and Schubeck lifters. Hy Tech transmission with Pro Tran valve body. 8 in. dynamic torque converter. 4.56 differential and Mosher spools and axles. The suspension on this car consists of Cal track bars and mono leaf springs with rear Rancho adjustable shocks.
Paint and interior are the original color and are in great shape. Car has books of documentation showing the history of the car and the restoration process including tons of pictures. This beautiful and fast car is ready for spring races or car shows! This car could easily be made into a street legal car. This was a full rotisserie restoration in 2007.
