For sale in our St. Louis showroom is an iconic Muscle car, a 1969 Pontiac GTO. This great looking and powerful GTO is painted in Liberty Blue and the interior is comprised of blue vinyl. Under the hood is the original, numbers matching 400 CID V8 engine and a 4-spd Muncie manual transmission. Backing the drivetrain is a 10 bolt posi rear-end with 3.55 gears. Options include: AC, AM/FM radio, power brakes, power steering, tilt wheel, seat belts, vinyl, radial tires, and rally wheels. Upgraded and recently new to the car includes: Ram Air exhaust manifolds, 2.5" dual exhaust, light bezels, dash (not just cover), gas tank, AC compressor, fuel lines, brake lines, and battery. This GTO was frame off restored and is solid. The 400 CID V8 engine is upgraded from stock which includes: .030 over bore, TRW forged pistons, roller rockers, and new wiring. New in 1969 GM eliminated the front door vent windows, had a slight grille and taillight revision, moved the ignition key from the dashboard to the steering column (which locked the steering wheel when the key was removed, a Federal requirement installed one year ahead of schedule), and the gauge faces changed from steel blue to black. In addition, the rear quarter-panel mounted side marker lamps changed from a red lens shaped like the Pontiac "V" crest to one shaped like the broad GTO badge. Front outboard headrests were made standard equipment on all GTOs built after January 1, 1969. Many enthusiasts find the 69 year to be the best year for the GTO. Sitting in one and starting the engine its no wonder why. To view this car in greater detail, including an HD video, please visit www.gatewayclassiccars.com or our St. Louis showroom.
