| Vehicle Description |
This is a 1956 Mercury Monterey. It has a clear Colorado title. I have a loan on the car, so the title is currently possessed by the bank.
It has a 312 cubic inch V8. It is a clean car for its age and price.
The Good:
It has all original floors, trunk, hood, and sheet metal.
It runs and drives well.
It has a newer radiator and support
It has a rebuilt transmission with less than 200 miles on it
It has new brakes (drums and shoes) with less than 200 miles on them
It has a rebuilt 4 barrel carb with less than 200 miles on it.
The oil has been changed with a new filter less than 200 miles ago.
There is new glass for all 4 door windows. (it is not installed yet)
The factory repair manual is included.
It was last appraised for $8500.
The not as good:
The body is in good condition except for a few small rust spots and some rust in the rear quarter panels.
The chrome on the rear bumper is not the best, and the previous owner spray painted it with silver paint in some spots.
There is a small amount of rust showing through the chrome on the front bumper.
The door handles and the hood ornament are pitted.
Gauges not working: fuel, speedometer, odometer (I have put less than 500 miles on the car since I have owned it.)
The passenger side taillight has a small (dime size) hole in it.
The fuel tank is a little rusty inside. This is no big deal except for having to change the fuel filter every so often. (I got a tank on another car cleaned and coated for $100.)
