 Vehicle Description
Hartz Cloth Convertible Top, Hartz Cloth Boot, Buehl Air Horns, Rumble Seat, McCulloch Supercharged, Alternator, Wide whitewalls, Turn Signals, Deluxe Bumper Guard, Fog Lamps, Sport Light, Columbia Rear End . Fans of early Ford V8 performance this one is for you! The 39 Ford Deluxe convertible shown here is not like your Grand-Dads humble flathead. The V8 powering this all-steel Ford is a living fossil from the dawn of Ford racing history. The stock Ford flathead was replaced with a larger 239 c.i. Mercury V8, then bored 3-3/16th inches and topped with the legendary McCulloch Centrifugal Supercharger. This upgrade delivers an impressive 153 hp, which is a 66% power increase over the stock 24-stud V8 in the 1939 Ford Deluxe.A Columbia rear end replaced the stock assembly, providing an overdrive gear when engaged. Other additions include dual exhaust, banjo steering wheel, front hydraulic brakes, seat belts, drivers side spotlight, alternator, turn signals and a very loud pair of Buehl air horns. Other notable stock options include a rumble seat, which was the last year offered by Ford. Best part is the original Ford steel body was left unmolested and looks beautiful in authentic Dartmouth green paint.Make no mistake, youll be hard-pressed to find another 39 Ford like this one. While there are plenty of Double and Triple Deuce Retro Rods around, the next owner of this car will be the only one on cruise night with a genuine McCulloch supercharged flathead and all the fun that comes with it. Youtube video available upon request. Call our classic car division at 815-385-8408 for video and/or vehicle information.
