| Vehicle Description |
Up for sale is a very solid 1938 Chevy 2 door Master Deluxe Sedan. This was a rust free Idaho body. I have owned it since 1978 when I bought it for a project. Eight years later I started driving it all over the Northwest to rod runs. It is very comfortable to drive and has had about 20,000 trouble free miles put on it since I restored it. I originally installed a 400 SBC donor motor in it and have since replaced that with a new rebuilt 350 SBC that I had won at a Rod Run in central Oregon. A lot of NOS parts were used in the restoration. I got a lot of really nice parts from a local antique parts wrecking yard and had lots of cars to pick the best parts from. I built the car to take my kids along on our trips but they are on their own now and it is time to move along. The interior still needs to be finished so I priced it accordingly at $24,000. All the materials I have go with the sell. Car can be picked up in Boise, Idaho or shipping by transporter of buyer’s choice. If you have any other questions, give me a call; Mel @ 208-859-3707 cell.
Body and Paint:
Body was rust free and painted by Batch’s Street Rods of Idaho. Dodge Crimson Red lacquer. . The rear fenders were NOS and came out of a Chevrolet distributorship in Pocatello Idaho. The front fenders and running boards are from Old Chicago of Portland area.
Chassis:
Body off restoration. Front suspension- 54 Chevy independent with Honda rack and pinion. Rear end came from a Camaro with 3:08 ratio and was completely rebuilt. Stock rear springs tefloned. Power breaks, rear air shocks, front stabilizer as well as the rear. Frame was sandblasted and painted with a red epoxy two stage paint before components were installed. Car rides and handles excellent with no tire wear from the 20,430 miles I put on it.
Engine/Transmission:
350 Chevy- new Edelbrock carb with powder coated factory intake. That motor has about 6500 miles on it now.Block hugger headers, HEI distributor, and manual fuel pump with electric back-up at rear. The engine was put together by a machine shop in central Oregon to be given away at a local Rod Run. It runs strong at 190 degrees all day long pulling a tear drop trailer. It has been very dependable with great oil pressure. The trany is a rebuilt 350 turbo with mild shift kit and a Ginny floor shifter added. In dash shift indicator by Ron Francis. Mirror stainless firewall with rose pattern etched in.
Wheels/Tires:
Wheels are Ultra aluminum with 14” Cooper Lifeliners on front and 15” on the rear. Tires have about 5,000 miles on them.
Interior:
Interior by owner. I was in the business 35 years. Stock seats were rebuilt and covered with muslin. I had problems deciding on materials so Mexican blankets were installed temporary and has not been finished. Materials I have goes with the sell. Headliner installed with maroon velvet. Carpets were installed and kick panels covered in carpet. Front door panels were temporary covered after a trip of hot door metal. I recently purchased the replacement rear arm rests to finish the rear panels. The trunk needs finished as well. Dash has a one off set of Isspro gauges installed with near NOS stock speedo and only had 6000 miles on it. Radio, CB, Honda overhead consol, GM tilt column with GM GT wheel.
Chrome:
New front and rear bumpers, bumper brackets, front and rear license bracket, hood latches and supports, radiator to cowl support rod, door strikers, all window moldings and deck lid and handles and grill- you would look hard to find a nicer one..
Miscellaneous:
Cruise, blue dot tail lights, electric wipers with new towers, halogen headlight conversion by owner, Wardlow bra, Beverly Hills car cover, front turn signals and rears with bright bulbs, third brake light. This car passed the NSRA 23 point inspection every year I began driving it. |
