 Vehicle Description
Ive never met a person who didnt grin whenever a classic Cadillac convertible glides past. Maybe its because these luxurious drop tops have been glamorized for half a century by the likes of a Rock Hudson and Frank Sinatra. Heck, even the Archangel Gabriel in the future-based movie "The Prophecy" drives one of these. If you want to look ultra-cool, apparently a vintage Cadillac ragtop is the only way to travel. The first thing you see of course is the paint and so this DeVilles opening statement is a good one. With 21 factory colors to choose from, not all the colors improve upon this classic design, but certain choices will never go out of style. Light blue is a laudable choice, as it emphasizes the traditional Cadillac design cues: long, sweeping profile, pointed vestigial tailfins, and crisp detailing. The less than one year old respray was professionally applied to a high standard over beautiful sheetmetal. The dark blue convertible top is a refreshing change from the common white variety and helps to place this 67 a bit apart from the crowd. Of course these cars were bathed in chrome trim and its all still here and in extremely well-preserved condition, including the pontoon-style front bumper ends, whose condition verifies this cars dry southern heritage. Open the door and have a look inside. Along with the fresh paint a fair amount of dollars were invested in new dash pad, seat covers, door panels, and carpeting. The light blue seats will be easy to care for and wear well, and theres just nothing like top-of-the-line 60s style. There are a few minor items left to do inside, if you like to tinker, but otherwise this one is ready to enjoy. And enjoying a Cadillac includes creature comforts. Power steering, power brakes, power windows, tilt wheel, AM/FM cassette player and the power top are at your fingertips. The canvas roof drops down in seconds, just like 1967, and stows beneath a matching blue boot. The engine is a 1969 vintage 472 cubic inch V8 that professionally installed and is performing just as it should, and offers a nice bump in both performance and durability over the original 429. Rated at 375 HP and producing a towering 525 pounds of torque, this engine was famous for both performance and reliability. It handles the Devilles weight and mass without complaint, gracefully motivating this classic down the parkway. Its also nicely detailed, with a satisfying OEM look, which, of course, it is. In addition, the TH400 3-speed automatic transmission runs through the gears correctly and without complaint, and the exhaust system gives it a nice muted hum that sounds suitably powerful. The chassis is solid, although not detailed for show, and wears 235/75/15 Toyo white walls tires that frame those massive chrome hubcaps nicely. This car was made when America was landing on the moon and the phrase "Standard of the World" meant something. Call us today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
