 Vehicle Description
I have owned this car for 40 years. I purchased it in Burbank California on January 27th 1973. The car comes with a journal started by that current owner in 1961 (75,350 miles). He purchased the car from Stenstrom Buick , in San Rafael, California. for $272.00. I purchased the car from Rob Beck, a young fellow who owned the car for about 6 months, on January 27, 1973 (96,170 miles).

I used the car to haul antiques throughout the Los Angeles/Hollywood area. In November 1975 I trailered the car to Arlington, Vermont, where I restored the original wood (replacing a rear post and side trim piece). In 1982 I brought the car to it's present location Bellevue, Washington. Here I repainted it with original color (using nitrocellouse lacquer) I never actually painted the roof and it remains in it's original factory paint, rechrome the bumpers, polished and straighted the stainless steel trim pieces and the uphoesty was replaced a soft vinyl very similar to the original color and feeling. The engine was rebuilt around the same time (approximatelty 141,649 miles).
The car currently has 146,234 miles on it. The car all its original parts, engine, tranmission. In the past ten years she has been featured in magazines and recieved many trophies. This #301 of 2212 1951 Super Estate wagons made. The car comes lots of original Buick dealer data for that year and model.
The asking price for this wonderful example of American motor history is priced at $55,000.

I apologize for the lack of any good photos. I apparently have not taken many. However, the car has had literally thousands of photos taken by car enthusiests at car shows. It is very popular with public and professionals. You can also google it , use buick woody canoe, and you will find more photos. Also on youtube, buick woody canoe and you will see and interview with me and the Vintage Vehicle TV show.

In addition , Keith Martin (Sports Car Market magazine) has just premiered his new magazine, "American Car Collector" March-April 2012 issue. He featured it this magazine under the section "Whats my car Worth?". He also had shown the car on their TV show last summer.

If interested the canoe on top of the car is a 1928 Willits Brothers Canoe, made in Tacoma , Washington. The canoe # 279 was used for a rental boat, in the 1930's, at the Unversity of Washington. It is 17 feet long and weights 75 lbs. The canoe is availble for sale at $5,000.00.
