California Car Cover “Stormweave” cover, storage bag
This car was built in 1965 for the 1966 model year in Hamilton,Ontario using a Canadian GM “McKinnon” 283 engine and Stude 3-speed w/overdrive manual transmission. Stude guys call it a Chevy-baker!
It was purchased new by an elderly, NM couple & driven until '82 when the overdrive failed with 49,000 miles. It was purchased by another buyer and stored until 2000. After 18 years of storage, all it needed was gas and a battery to start and drive again.
The car pulls strong off the line yet freeway cruises with a 4th gear overdrive. You won't see one of these at every show - they only made 640 Daytonas, the top of the line. Parts, including sheetmetal, are still plentiful for this simple, lightweight shoebox. Gets lots of thumbs up and "What is it?" guesses since there's no exterior emblems. Car has been in Scottsdale, Pueblo, Pikes Peak Goodguys shows, lots of cruise ins, has been on the road about 5 years with about 5000 miles.
Will consider streetrod or project trades of equal value - no boats, bikes, or post '57's. |
