It might be easier to say what isnt new than to list everything that has been recently replaced, but a few items include the front window regulators, dash trim, light switch, antenna, wiper motor and cables, escutcheon plates, and the rear package shelf. Modifications were kept to a minimum, but you will note that the original shifter has been modified to work with the new 700R4 automatic transmission. Even the trunk was treated to a full restoration, with a correct rubber mat and even a correct bias-ply spare tire and complete jack assembly. The whole point of a resto-mod like this is to give a beautiful old car a modern soul, and thats exactly what has happened here. A custom-built 350 with an .030 overbore, Keith Black pistons, and late-model Vortec heads makes the horsepower. It has been fortified with an Edelbrock carb atop a high-rise intake, as well as all-new accessories, so it runs like a new car. In fact, only 300 miles have been clocked on the engine and transmission since installed. The built drivetrain breathes through long-tube headers wearing a ceramic coating for longevity, and exhale into a great-sounding dual exhaust system thats subtle but authoritative. The aforementioned 700R4 transmission feeds the stock 57 rear end, which rides on new leaf springs and fresh air shocks for the perfect attitude. Up front, the steering is a new quick-ratio box along with all-new springs, shocks, and bushings, and power disc brakes.
