 Vehicle Description
Sometimes simple is better. 32 Ford roadsters like this slick dark blue rod are a great reminder of a time when actually feeling a machine doing its thing was more important than isolation and climate control. The elemental feeling of the early hot-rodders is beautifully captured here, and yes, its a Ford engine in this Ford. Built by Daytona Roadsters, the dark blue is a very refreshing change from all the red and black Deuce hi boys you see at shows. Simple in execution, it stands out because of details like the louvered hood painted frame rails, and perfect proportions. Best of all, no real 1932 Fords were harmed in the build, with a very straight and very accurate fiberglass shell, which is both strong and lightweight, enhancing performance. That is, of course, what these cars are all about. Workmanship is excellent throughout, and it shouldnt be surprising that this glass rod fits together better than an original, especially after the pros got done making it straight. The two-stage urethane paint has an electric blue glow to it that really stands out, and when youre using a dark color, you know how important it is to get everything straight. A 32 grille shell up front keeps it traditional, along with a set of King-Bee style headlights and the 39 Ford taillights, with bright spreader bars fore and aft taking care of bumper duty. The other nice thing about some of these new roadster bodies is that theyre a lot more spacious than the originals. Fitted with a custom bench seat wrapped in black leatherette, its all-day comfortable in this Deuce, which is more than we can say for our grandfathers cars. A dashboard full of Stewart Warner gauges looks right in the vintage Ford, and that dirt track style steering wheel is the coolest tiller Ive seen in a long time. Fitted floor mats, fully upholstered door panels with map pockets, and a carpeted trunk are probably worlds nicer than any early hi-boy, but youll appreciate it when youre on the road. Thanks to the 351W under the hood, on the road is where youll want to spend a majority of your time. Again, simplicity was the rule, so that means a reliable Holley carb, Edelbrock intake, and a set of ceramic headers to help build power. The engine bay is nicely detailed, with a bright red block and heads, and a bunch of chrome and polished aluminum bits like the alternator, air cleaner, and lovely finned valve covers. Its been fitted with a Vega steering box, so it tracks straight and feels agile on the road, and the C4 3-speed automatics quick reflexes make it a pleasure in traffic. Suspension is traditional, with hairpins and buggy springs front and rear, but disc brakes keep it safe. The big-n-little rolling stock consists of 15-inch steel wheels wearing 165-15 front and 285/70/15 rear BFGoodrich radials. A cool roadster that delivers an elemental thrill that few other cars can match. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
