1957 Chev Belair 2 door hardtop - beautiful

When I bought this 57 Chevy Belair two door hardtop in 1978 it would only drive in reverse so I drove it home at night backwards! Over the following 38 years I restored it twice because as my skills improved I wanted this car to be even better. At present it has only 10k miles on it since the frame off restoration in 1997. The body was mounted on a rotisserie to facilitate body work & painting. Dupont white base coat, clear coat was carefully applied and then buffed out. The paint remains in very good condition.

The bumpers were re-chromed.

The 350 CI Chevy engine & automatic trans (three speed turbo hydramatic) were overhauled. A four barrel Edelbrock carb was installed along with a Pertronix electronic ignition inside the distributor. The interior was restored using Danchuk original 1957 style materials including an original large steering wheel.

Air conditioning is \"under dash\" using R-12 so its very cold. The AC condenser is huge which contributes to cold AC. The AC shroud was custom built and allows the use of AC on the hottest Tucson days. Brakes are drum front & rear. 605 power steering is installed. Car is always stored indoors and always waxed. Radio is aftermarket. Glass and chrome are excellent. This is a great cruising car you will enjoy taking to car shows!
