| Vehicle Description |
YOU ARE LOOKING AT AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF A 1970 CADILLAC COUPE DE VILLE SHOW WINNER.
NUMBERS MATCHING MOTOR ORIGINAL 472cid/375hp
Purchased from the original owner, this beauty has been in my family for over 20 years. Here is a brief history of how this 472 Cadillac was saved and restored to it's current glory.
What was done:
Vehicle stripped to bare metal (including old vinyl top) and repainted. Two skirts and right front fender replaced with rust free parts acquired from desert junk yard. Solid frame and floor pans. Correct exhaust complete with resonator. Original chrome bumpers. Front seat restored with matching original upholstery.
Motor recently tuned, new hoses and belts. Rebuilt transmission. All maintenance records have been kept.
What needs attention:
AC not running cold. Engine compartment needs more detailing in order to take this car to the next level of restoration. May need U-joints or rear end serviced. Back seat should be re-stuffed and recovered.
I originally purchased the vehicle from an elderly gentleman who treated himself to this luxury car for his retirement. This Coupe de ville was registered to my girlfriend (now my wife) who owned it briefly and was then registered in my name when she purchased her own Eldorado. This Cadillac served as my daily driver and was always maintained mechanically. After purchasing a more practical commuter vehicle, the Caddy was sold (assumed never to be seen again). Approximately six months later the new owner called offering it back to me. I jumped at the chance to have her back. I then tucked her away in a local garage for several years. When the garage was no longer available to me, I decided to give her the makeover she deserved while preparing a new garage. Fresh out of the restoration shop, the coupe took first place in a Cadillac show!
You can buy another and invest thousands into a project and never have a 1970 Cadillac this nice and with knowledge of so much history.
