I have bought a few camaros from John at Harwell over the past 10 years and he has always been very upfront and honest. I frequent their site regularly and have sent numerous friends over to them to purchase muscle cars. If you look at their reputation and the volume of cars they sell, they must be doing something right.
I just spoke to John Harwell on the phone and it seems they were filming a TV show there the last couple of days. To make a long story short even though everything I said in my first post was accurate, I can understand what happened now and he said he told the secratary to refund my deposit. I don't know yet if the money has been refunded but John sounds like a stand up guy and I told him I would consider using his company again. Sometimes stuff just happens.
Well I guess I'm the odd man out. I found my salesman Donny totally unresposive. He told me on two seperate occasions he would call and give me important information and nothing. They mislabeled the car in the ad and even sent final paperwork for me to sign with the incorrect info on it. When I asked the salesman about the error he told me the public wasn't smart enough to know the difference between a Belair and a 210. When the bank sent out an inspector they showed him the wrong car and they had to send someone else out two days later to look at the car they were trying to sell me Profesional, knowledgeable NOT in my opinion. I called the bank and cancelled the loan and lost my deposit but no way was I going to spend 17k on a car I had never seen with these people. My advise is unless you are going there in person, stay away from Harwell Motors.
I purchased a car from Harwell Motors last year. I was impressed by the entire staff. These guys seem to be the most honest car salesmen I have dealt with. They describe EVERYTHING on the car. They don`t hide things or sugar-coat their cars. The car I purchased was pretty much exactly as they described to me over the phone. I was not disappointed at all when the car arrived. They handled all my paperwork as well as shipping the car to me. I really wonder how they get all these great cars and sell them at the prices they advertise. The prices are GREAT.
I would not hesitate to buy another car from them. I can highly recommend them. My experience was truly pleasing.
Yes. I bought a 69 Charger from them recently - finally! I had been following their website for the past year, and every time I found a car I wanted, it was gone before I could get all the money together. These guys must sell a lot of cars because their inventory changes daily. I recommend you get all of your money together before calling them on a car because they sell fast.
Now, for my experience. Dealing with them was really good. I was not looking for a 50k restored car, because I wanted to do some work myself. My charger was priced really good in comparison to others online. When I called on it, I got to talk to the owner (John) who was very cool, seemed very honest, and he explained to me all of the details about the car, and didnt leave out anything. As a matter of fact, on their website the cars have all the options listed, and a section called 'Does it work?' which answered a lot of my questions upfront. Needless to say the car was exactly the way the owner described it. There was no pressure to purchase, just a thank you and the car arrived at my house about a week later. Really good doing business with a car dealer who was totally honest about their cars.
I am a MOPAR collector, and known to be very picky. I first became acquainted with Harwell Motor Co. in 2005,when I was looking for a 70 Cuda. Since that time I have purchased 5 cars and sold 4 (other) cars with Harwell. Every transaction was very smooth and professional, and I have been more than satisfied with the cars I bought form them. They were all as advertised, and I've not had any problems with them. Pricing of the cars was better than I found with other sellers. Three of MOPAR's I bought from Harwell are a 67 Plymouth Satellite, 70 Dodge Challenger T/A, and just last year, a 70 Dodge Challenger convertible. I'm sure I will be buying and selling in the future, but it will only be with Harwell.
I have bought 2 cars from them over the past 4 years. They were great to deal with and very helpful in steering me to the right car. I have learned a lot over the past few years and you get what you pay for. Harwells cars are priced right and they were very very honest about there cars. I highly recommend.
