how can i prove my 69 chevelle is a true SS
It had 71k miles when i got it 30 years ago,my uncle got rid of my 396/325.

Impossible to tell if your Chevelle is a true SS or not from VIN's. The only true to find out is if you have documentation...

From what I know about the Chevelle's, SS information isn't avail by the VIN from 69 to 72.

69 ss has special black rimmed front turn signals, it has ss emblems all over it; these would have been added to the front fenders if needed.sidemarker mights stand alone. most ss had disc brakes, all had 12 bolt rears with "boxed" control arms. the door panels and the glove box lid say ss on them the big blocks had the big radiators, and many ss had guages, we made a clone ss yrs ago, it takes a garage full of parts to do it and most guys miss something.
