The tail lights weren't the chinese eye looking type but had 3 bullet types per side like a 60's model. Is there adifferent designation for this car or a different names?

I would have to agree, it sounds like what you saw was a 1958 Chevy Impala - which was it's first year of production. Here are some pictures.
