Hi, I´m happy to joined oldride. I´m live in Mexico and I have a small collection of mexican classic cars: several Chevys 55 - 57 car and pickup among others. I have them fully or close to fully restored condition, with mexican titles and matching numbers original documents. Does any one has done it or knows how to export them finally to USA and Canada with the purpose of sell them there? Does anyone knows what are the NAFTA agreement terms for classic and vintage cars? I would appreciate any input regarding this subject. Best Regards to all my fellow old riders Henry Munoz

Hi Henry, Welcome and what great questions. Collector vehicles must be over 25 years old to qualify for USA, 15 for Canada. Importing old car into the USA: Must have title and bill of sale. Titles must be cleared by US Customs. Pay 2.5% on price of vehicle. Importing into Canada: Must have title and bill of sale. US Customs clearance of the title is mandatory, and pay your GST, aka, Gouge and Screw Tax. There may be other methods to import, but this answer to your question pertains to the simple and legal.
