Another thing to think about, if you do not buy and use the premixed antifreeze is the water you use in the radiator, once you get a nice clean system running you should consider using distilled water (buy by the gallon at grocery store), this will minimize the buildup of mineral deposits and help keep the cooling system flowing good. The idea of using distilled water to improve your cooling system has been debated but I have seen many radiators with white mineral deposits that reduce the flow in the radiator and you never really know how much mineral content is in your tap water.

As previously mentioned a good cooling system tune up is in order, and hopefully will resolve your problem. If it doesn't, here are some other items that can cause overheating at highway speeds. A partially blocked exhaust system, improper ignition timing, engine running too lean and a blown head gasket are all potential culprits. Good luck.
