putting my 1959 GMC 1/2 Ton back in working order and need to know what motor is in it.
The casting number on the block by the dipstick is F524H Serial number on tag drivers door post 102PS17641A. Its a truck brought back from the high desert in Colorado rust free but plenty of dents which have been pounded out. I intend to use the Truck for daily use, tired of check engine lights and immpossible to work on engines.

The 59 that I had with the inline six had the c.u. on the flat by the distributor hole. It was stamped with a 270. The 270 is making a rebirth with hot rodders these days.
