To explian.I own a 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 the car came with 15" wheels and 70 series tires. P215/70/SR15 on the front and P255/70/SR15 on the rear. I can't find anything other than a 14" wheel being offerd on this car not even as an option but the wheels are correct, beauty rings and Chevrolet Motor Division center caps. So, they must have been available. Not to mention I would rather not shell out the $$$ to buy new wheels. So still with me??? I am planning on getting 4 new tires only.Is an F70-15 a P205,P215,P225,P235 ect... also would a 60 series tire be a better choice? or should I stay with the 70 series

I am assuming by you description you are referring to the Rally Wheel option available on Chevelle. The 14 inch X 7.5 wheels.were also options for Camaro and Nova. Corvette featured a 15 X 7.5 and a 15 X 8.5 version which has the same bolt pattern as the 14 inch size. This was a low budget way to run bigger tires without spending a lot of money for Keystone, Cragar or other expensive "mags". Since so many people opted for aftermarket wheels, Rally Wheels were abundant and cheap. Regarding tire selection, it just depends on what you plan to do with the car. The stock size tire is OK for shows, but barely adequate for the torque delivered by a big block. If you stick to stock, a light right foot is required to keep from using the rear tires up quickly. Have fun!

close match to a f70 would be 225/70r15 . A 60 series is shorter and wider try a 235/60r15 wider but shorter it depends on what look you want, I have 72 elcamino 396ss with 255/60r15 on the rear and 215/70r15 on the front height is perty close.
