I am 65 and find that I cannot afford to retire. Not yet able to supplement my Social Security and now forced to sell my 1956 Chevy Belair (Convertible Hardtop) that I had dreams or restoring. I am in need of cash but I do not want to give it away. Can you give me some advise on what it is worth, Not Running?

I think the problem is that he has to sell it to supplement his current income. Aside from placing ads on National websites like this one, i would also suggest a web based forum that is centered around 55-57 chevys. There, you'll have an audience that already loves these cars. You can place an ad on their classifieds section or just start a thread about your car and its availability. Hope this helps. This looks like a good one to start with: http://www.trifive.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=5

I think you are approching your problems the wrong way. I would rather drive a "survivor" rather than nothing at all. With a survivor, you can participate in events just like the guy who spent 100K on his restorod. However, you can park at walmart and not have to worry about washing the bugs off every time you take it out for 10 minuets. I can testify, this gets old quickly. Every time I see a rat rod, I tell my wife, we should have painted the car like that! No cares, no worry. Every time you make an improvement, you feel better about yourself. Perfection is not all it is cracked up to be. These cars were ment to drive. Make it safe, make it reliable, and then drive the wheels off of it.
