had other engines stuck ,got them free and drove them...was trying to get this one running ,drive this summer and find another rocket engine to rebuild and install next winter..thanks

atf works well, but either way you will have to work the crankshaft back and forth a little each time. hopefully nothing will score or a ring won't break. the chevy 400 i got from my dads shed had one hole rusted up from a leaky roof. i did the atf soak, work it back and forth, wash it, work it and wash it a lot.it runs still, even with the top 3/4 inch of cylinder pitted a little. patience is a virtue at these times

I am not sure what you are up too, are you wanting to get it loose and put the head's back on. Or to rebuild eng. it sound's as though the ring is rusted to the piston and the cylinder. You will have to rebuild the eng if you do get it loose it will leave pitt's in the cylinder. Best thing to do is see if you can get 30 over piston's, and give the eng too the machane shop and they will handle it.... Good luck
