Should I buy a Ford Mustang...1965 Vs. 2005?
I love Mustangs and I'm not sure which one to buy. I love the classic style however I really like the newer Mustangs as well. They are similar in price and I just want to get some opinions as to which y'all would want to buy. Thanks!

if it was going to be a fun vehicle to drive in town or just for certain occassions...then i would buy the '65...if i was looking for an everyday driver and for out of state driving as well...then i would buy the '05...but thats just me.

I agree with 36dbpickup, while the classic 65 is timeless, taking it on a cross state vacation will prove to be alot less comfortable than the newer Mustang. Keep in mind however you will have depreciation with any new vehicle, where-as the 65 "should" continue to go up in value.

IF IT WAS ME ID STICK WITH THE CLASSIC.YOU CAN DO ALOT TO EITHER ONE BUT THE CLASSIC WILL PROBABLY BE CHEAPER ON PARTS.

If you dont have to use it as a daily driver, I would go with the Classic, At least it won't depreciate and be worthless like the late model car.

As the owner of a 67 mustang and a retired Ford engineer who worked on the design and development of the current mustang, my answer would be "it depends". It depends on your personal habits and why you are purchasing it. The 65 will definately get more looks and comments than the 05 but will probably not be a good daily use car. It will certainly require more care and maintenance than the 05. No matter what you hear from others, cars really are better now. From a dependability, ride and comfort point of view the 05 will win every time. If I were buying now, I would find the very nicest 05 that has every option, powertrain and color that you want and buy that. For a couple reasons, first, an 05 has already significantly depreciated yet there are still new enough that very nice, low mileage examples can be found. Once you have found the 05 of your dreams, take extra good care of it, use it and enjoy it!
