Where is the brake light switch located on a 1955 buick special with power brakes
The brake light works but it will not come on on til the brake is pushed to the floor. The brakes work fine, but I have no brake lights when I JUST PUSH A LITTLE ON THE BRAKES. How can I adjust it so the light will work as soon as I push on the brakes? Also where is the master cylinder located so I can check the fluid level?

'55 Buick - cool car! If brakes really go to the floor - fix 'em!! Now sounds like a good time for a thorough brake system inspection - not after your accident. Master is low on dr's side firewall, almost under the floor. Find the fill pipe and remove cap to add fluid. Switch is a round 2 pin on m/cyl. It's pressure activated and there is no adjustment. If the brake system is in good contion, then replacing it should address your brake light concern. See NAPA.
