Not only did the 4 dr sedan have piller posts and solid window frames the rear doors are smaller in size compared to the rear doors on the 4dr.sports sedan.

Partsman is on it. The regular sedan has frames around the side windows and the pillar between the front and rear door goes up to the roof. The Sport Sedan looks like this.

ACCORDING TO CHEVROLET THE COMPLETE HISTORY BY THE AUTO EDITORS OF CONSUMER GUIDE THE 4DR HARDTOP WAS CALLED A SPORT SEDAN..IT WAS IN THE IMPALA LINE ,THE SS HAD FLOOR SHIFTS AND CONSOLES.
