I need help removing a manual steering box, 1966 Mercury cyclone 390. I have read the repair manual and done everything it says is required, then it says to lift up over the spring towers to remove it, but It jams up and won't move when I try that. If anyone can enlighten me I appreaciate it. The body by the end of the slector shaft gets caught on the left cylinder head and the the front mounting bolt bolt castbg jams against the spring tower and will not move.
Thanks

try loosening the left motor mount and raising the engine slightly, for more clearance.remembering the 60 tbird that you had to raise engine to get the starter off.
