My 56 Ford Country Sedan Wagon clunks when shifting.
Engine is a 292, transmission automatic. I have looked at the drive line externally and everything seems tight. If I need to to replace the rear end, what did Ford use in this car?

their were a number of different options available. 3.31, 3.54, 3.73, 3.92, 4.09, 4.27, 4.55. According to the Interchange you can use a 1955-1956 Thunderbird/Police axle assm. but you must relocate the spring pads. All 1952-1956 Wagons used the same style Assm.
