i have a 65 Impala SS. i want to know if it's a real SS or not & if engine is original
VIN # is166375A158274. engine serial # isT0430GF. The info I've found suggests that the 66 designates it as a Caprice. If it is, it was cloned a very long time ago, at least 25 years. It has a 283 engine in it which appears original. It doesn't appear to have ever been repainted or anything. Also, everything I've found says that the SS didn't come with a 283. It also has bucket seats & the SS console, SS door panels & everything else I know of. Is there a sure way to tell if it's real? If it's not, someone went to a great deal of trouble a long time ago to replace all these parts with SS parts. Any info you can give me would be appreciated. thanks
